NAT MORLEY ARTIST
![]()
For the "square series" and "oblong series" each block is printed twice. First the light colour is printed, then the block is inked up with the dark colour and
a rag is used to wipe away the area which is to remain light. The dark colour is then printed on top of the light colour, a process
which requires precise registration.
Nat studied geography at St John's College Oxford. She graduated with a 2.1 and received a college prize and a first class
for her dissertation on Aboriginal land rights. Her time spent with an aboriginal community in Western Australia was very
significant and its influence feeds into her art.
After her degree Nat decided to go back to the drawing board literally and took an access course at Stroud College in art.
She then established herself as an artist specializing in printmaking in a studio in Nailsworth with the help of a large grant
and loan from the Princes Youth Business Trust.
She now has a studio in Brimscombe, Stroud and is a member of the Cotswold Craftsmen.
Through the guild she exhibits at many shows and she continues to exhibit widely in various galleries.
Her work is permanently on show at the Cotswold Craftsmen Gallery in Market Street, Nailsworth.
Many of Nat's images are also available as cards which are proving to be very popular.
Nat lives in Tetbury with her twin daughters and three cats and enjoys playing lots of musical instruments and singing in her Parish Church choir.
