Having a draughtsman's eye for detail, I like to draw in
silver-point, pencil, charcoal, etc.. Being au fait with most painting media - watercolour,
acrylics, oils, etc. - I tend to paint large paintings of, to be honest whatever takes my
fancy at any given moment e.g. I recently finished a series of painting of drag queens and
previously a few studies of the forest where I live. I recently returned back to
jewellery maker being adept in macramé, beading, wire-work and kumihimo braiding.

I am also a non-toxic printmaker with a well equipped print studio, creating lino, collagraph,
silk screen-printing and etching. My etchings exploit techniques employed by many in the
electronics and engineering industry (i.e. metal salt solutions to etch the plate).
I love the print process itself exploring an image in one print format or an other
or experimenting with Stanley William Hayter's viscosity technique plus many others, as well as being skilled in fine art
bookbinding a useful skill for binding ones own prints.

Collagraph |
I have been told that I am an enthusiastic artist/demonstrator,
passionate about the process of creating and drawing the best out of students. having previously
taught at Cinderford Artspace, Foxes Bridge Day Centre, Cinderford and Coleford House, Coleford
working with mixed ability adults, able-bodied, disabled and special needs being myself disabled
working within the governments permitted work program.
As a volunteer tutor I had been invited to take over the teaching of existing adult art groups in
Blakeney and Broadwell (which later relocated to Staunton village hall), and asked to set up an
art group in Soudley village hall and the West Gloucestershire Art Society in the community centre,
Bream. I now teach weekly art classes at the West Dean Centre, Bream, privately as well as one
day workshops from my own studio.
My aim is to develop and enhance the skills, experience and interest of those that attend my classes,
to encourage individual projects in the pursuit of ones own style and creative aspirations. I teach
solid skills and technique across a wide range of medium and subject matter from traditional to
contemporary art.
If interested in my work, art classes, demonstrations and workshops feel free to contact me.
